From 10am to 12pm botanical artist and Conservation Agent Tricia Cassady will guide your young creators through the artistic process of crafting their own nature-themed Valentines using watercolors\, colored pencils and pens. All art supplies are provided\, and everyone will leave with up to four handmade cards to take home and exchange with your favorite Valentines. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks to keep the young artists fueled up for creation. There is a small cost of $10 per participant\, discounted to $5 if you are a member. Students get in for $10\, and seniors $5. There is a matinee performance as well\, on Sunday\, February 9th at 2pm. Tamora’s debut book of poetry will be available for pre-purchase at the event. A good place to start may be at the Adams Center in Kingston on Tuesday\, February 4th for the first of the Home Buying Seminar Series–three classes to help clarify the entire process and ease the path to home ownership. How to Obtain a Mortgage\, the first in the series\, will be taught by Michael Fleming\, Rockland Trust Vice President and senior loan officer. You’ll learn how to qualify for a mortgage\, save for a down payment\, and about the pre-approval process. Fleming will additionally discuss interest rates\, mortgage products\, what happens after an offer is accepted\, private mortgage insurance\, and various programs available to first time homebuyers.
