DESCRIPTION:The LGBTQIA+ community is vibrant and beautifully diverse\, but unfortunately\, it’s also united by a shared experience – discrimination.   The ability to physically defend and protect oneself as a Queer person is imperative\, because this community is at a statistically much higher risk of facing unprovoked violence in their everyday lives. On Tuesday\, January 7th\, from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM\, Plymouth Pride invites you to a one-time only LGBTQIA+ Beginner Self Defense Class at the Plymouth Public Library. There\, instructor Stevie Downie will teach you basic defense skills so you can protect yourself in an emergency situation. This free 18+ event is running as a part of Plymouth Pride’s ongoing “First Tuesday” events that are held every month as a way for the LGBTQ+ community to come together. Hosted at the fabulous Club Café\, Boston’s top venue\, this event promises a memorable evening filled with high-energy music by guest DJ Christina from San Francisco\, delightful hors d’oeuvres\, and a vibrant dance lesson by Liz Nania\, founder and director of OUT to Dance.  \nDance attendees have raved about the incredible atmosphere\, the fantastic music\, and the joyous sense of community.  \nThis is not your typical benefit—it’s a lively celebration where you can dance the night away with friends old and new\, and create lasting memories. \nTickets for the in-person event are $40 in advance and $45 at the door\, with student tickets available for $20 in advance and $25 at the door with a student ID. DESCRIPTION:Let’s Visit the Farm is an event by Plymouth Pride offering LGBTQ+ pride kids and their parents an opportunity to enjoy a day of horsing around with a menagerie of barnyard animals and spend time in community with other rainbow families. Be sure to bring quarters to buy snacks you can feed the animals- they really like that! The group will meet at the gate on Saturday September 21st at 11am–just show up and look for the group of Pride friends. Please be aware that there are no facilities at the farm\, so bring what you might need for your kids (and adults too)! The farm is at 74 Obery Street in Plymouth.
