Kicking off at Nelson Park at 10:00 AM\, you will be able to walk along the trail while learning about all the elements and wildlife that surround you as you also follow the story of Pete the badger\, whose need for neatness causes a chain reaction of environmental consequences. StoryWalk will be up until Monday\, November 4th. The trail is both stroller and wheelchair friendly!  \nThis Story Walk project is a partnership between Plymouth Public Library\, Plymouth Open Space Committee\, Sustainable Plymouth and Plymouth’s Department of Energy and Environment.

DESCRIPTION:At some point in our lives\, it’s likely we all have experienced sweaty palms\, our heart beating a little too fast for comfort\, and the feeling of panic tightening our throats just before taking a test. Thankfully\, there are practices that can be implemented starting at an early age to help make the test taking experience less harrowing for kids with anxiety. On Tuesday September 17th\, from 4 to 5pm\, the Pembroke Public Library invites kids and their caretakers to Tackling Test Anxiety\, to hear local author Kathleen Jeffrey read her new book “Katie’s Really Bad Day\,” and discuss some methods to calm test anxiety in young children. Kids will get to practice with breathing boards and discuss their own experiences with test anxiety. Best for children aged 5 to 8 years old\, this event will take place in the Meeting Room. Artists hail from Plymouth\, the Pine Hills and over 30 regional towns. \nThere will also be live music featuring Bruce Fletcher\, Colette O’Connor\, Mike Doyle\, Jim Sharkey and Abigail Vail. Additional family exhibits includes Child’s Ply Alpaca\, Massachusetts South Shore Woodturners\, face painter Sybil Kaplan and a rocking boat to be created on site by South Shore Boatworks. There will also be a feature of custom LEGO creations. \nFood options include Artisan Pig\, Del’s Lemonade and a beer garden hosted by Second Wind Brewery. \nParking is available at 5 different sites with a courtesy shuttle provided.
