SUMMARY:From Bloody Sunday to Other Global Upheavals Panel Discussion and Author Event
DESCRIPTION: An ethno-nationalist conflict known as The Troubles tore Northern Ireland apart in violent disagreement about the region’s status from the late 1960’s until 1998.  For historical reasons\, the Unionists and loyalists wanted Northern Ireland to remain within the United Kingdom.  Irish nationalists and republicans wanted Northern Ireland to leave the United Kingdom and become a united Ireland. Learn more about The Troubles On Saturday January 18th\,  at 2: 00 PM\, when  the Ancient Order of Hibernians Plymouth Division 9 is hosting an intimate talk with author David Tereshchuk\,  to mark publication of David’s memoir\, A Question of Paternity: My Life as an Unaffiliated Reporter. Moderated by Irish activist and journalist Don Mullan\, “From Bloody Sunday to other global upheavals” is a free event  in the inspired historical setting of Cordage Park.  Learn about Tereshchuk’s intriguing life\, career and the stories behind the memoir during a panel discussion\, followed by a moderated Q&A session open to the audience. The event starts at 2pm and admission is free. Please register to attend through Eventbrite or by emailing the Order at AOHPlymouth@ gmail.com. The memoir will be available for purchase.
