DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, February 12th\, the Duxbury Senior Center invites you to a morning at the 1909 Wright building for Dux Talks. Carolyn Ravenscroft\, Archivist and Historian for DRHS\, will be on site to talk about the array of artifacts and historical treasures preserved within the walls of this recently renovated historical building. Registration is required as there are a finite number of spots available. Meet the group at 11am at 147 St. George Street (next to the Percy Walker Pool) or call the front desk of the Senior Center now to reserve one of the limited number of seats on a bus that will pick up and drop off at the Senior Center. The talk will be about an hour long.

DESCRIPTION:Imagine A World Only Lit By Fire–  Plimoth Patuxet Museum invites you back in time to experience what life in Plymouth was like before the use of electricity.  On Wednesday February 19th\, you’ll meet in the Visitor Center at 6pm to walk a path to the past illuminated only by star and candlelight.  You’ll stop at the Homesite to gather in the wetu by the glowing embers of a warm fire for a talk about the winter traditions of the Wampanoag people.  Guided by the sounds of melodic voices\, you will continue on to the village and visit a cottage alive with story and song. This one hour and thirty-minute walking tour\, removed from busy streets and glaring lights of modern civilization\, will immerse you in the past in a way that only Plimoth Patuxet can illuminate.Tickets are just $15 for members\, and $25  general admission.  Visit Plimoth Patuxet Museum’s website or Facebook page to purchase.

DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, February 25th\, the Duxbury Senior Center is hosting two programs led by certified genealogical researcher Seema Kenney. The first\, Our History\, starts at 11am and is a talk about the history of Ellis Island from 1630 to 2012. The second program\, “Be a Good Ancestor” starts at 1:30 pm and will talk about the future family members who will be interested in learning about your life\, and a few ways you might leave behind meaningful information for them. Both programs are happening at the Senior Center but offer a virtual option as well. Please register for one or both in advance\, and during the process select either “in person” or “virtual.”
