SUMMARY:The Native American Artifacts from the Alden First Site Reanalysis
DESCRIPTION: On Wednesday October 2nd Archaeologist Dan Zoto will be at the Duxbury Free Library to present: The Native American Artifacts from the Alden First Site: A Reanalysis. Dan will discuss a recent project that revisited the almost 2000 Native American artifacts excavated during Roland Robbins’ 1960 dig at the 17th century site of John and Priscilla Alden’s home– a collection of artifacts that reveals more than 8000 years of habitation by Indigenous peoples. The process of identifying and dating the objects will be explained\, and what they reveal about Native life in Duxbury before and after Europeans arrived. The talk begins at 7pm and can be attended in person at the library\, or virtually via Zoom. To register\, please visit the events section of the Alden House website.
