The Bedquilt – One Woman Play by Michele LaRue at Duxbury Free Library

Actor Michele LaRue’s one-woman performance of The Bedquilt is coming to the to The Merry Room at the Duxbury free Library on Wednesday September 11th. The Bedquilt, is a 1906 New England tale written by Dorothy Canfield Fisher, and is a unique weave of two stories written during an era before radio or tv, punctuated with a surprising reveal at the end.  Follow the story of elderly spinster Aunt Mehetabel whose only recognized skill is her prowess in quilting, then patching in another turn of the century story, A Quilting Bee in Our Village, written by Mary E Wilkins Freeman.  LaRue will conclude the performance with a surprising elucidation of how Fisher wrote The Bedquilt.
