The South Shore Chess Club is an entirely free, social chess club for adults and pre-teens.
Parents should register their kids by emailing Michael at thesouthshorechessclub@gmail.com before attending. The kids chess playing session is from 4 to 5pm on Wednesday.
Adults (5:30pm-8:30pm) can just drop in as long as they know how to play. There’s one entrance to the church at 18 Spear St and participants can contact Michael at thesouthshorechessclub@gmail.com for PIN/QR Code.
The club’s mission is to provide a friendly environment for the promotion of good chess camaraderie and positive community strength, while encouraging traditional OTB games of chess!
The demonstration of good chess etiquette is strongly encouraged at The South Shore Chess Club but good-natured Blitz chatter/banter is to be expected and enjoyed as well.
The South Shore Chess Club is located within Bethany Congregational Church at 18 Spear Street in Quincy with plenty of local parking available along surrounding streets and at Crane Library’s nearby lot. The building is handicapped-accessible and less than a half-mile from the Quincy Center MBTA station.
