Nature of the Maya World at Duxbury Free Library

On December 27th, join Joy from The Joys of Nature for The Nature of the Maya World, a Nature Travel Talk at the Duxbury Free Library. While sitting comfortably in the Setter Room, you’ll travel through the temples of Caracol, explore caves of artifacts, and tour ancient sites in Belize that one can still visit in current day. Learn about how the Maya incorporated iguanas, the keeled billed toucan, colorful parrots and a broad variety of Mesoamerican animals into their stories and intricate carvings, AND the importance to ceremony and medicine the cacao bean played – this source of chocolate was even used as currency This fascinating  hour-long program begins at 2pm and is best enjoyed by adults 18 years and above.
