The town of Kingston’s history has been varied and rich since its incorporation in 1726 – an early shipbuilding hub, it was a residential suburb for many Plymouth Cordage Company workers, and a popular shoreline escape for Bostonians. In 2026, this quaint and storied town will celebrate its 300th birthday, and a committee has been formed to plan a wide swath of events around this historical marker. Already in the works is Olde Home Day, a Scavenger Hunt, an historic house tour, a parade and fireworks. The Kingston 300 committee is seeking members across the entire community- Veterans, Wampanoag Native People, youth, seniors, religious organizations, schools, business owners, everyone- so that all of Kingston’s residents, past and present, are represented in the festivities on this monumental anniversary.
