Good babysitters are always in high demand. The Pembroke Rec Department is offering a one-day, 3-hour babysitting course to help young sitters improve their babysitting skills and learn the dos and don’ts of being home alone. It is an ideal course for kids ages 10 and up who want to start babysitting, or perhaps would like a review of the best babysitting practices. This class will provide some hands-on practice caring for infants-spoiler alert, diapering- and provide information on child development, playing with young children, basic first aid, fire safety and prevention, and overall, the general responsibilities of babysitting. There are two date choices available to take this class, Friday November 29th from 9am to 12pm and Friday December 27th from 9am to 12pm. Both are taking place at the Pembroke Community Center. The cost is $80, and you can sign up through the Pembroke Park and Rec website.
