At some point in our lives, it’s likely we all have experienced sweaty palms, our heart beating a little too fast for comfort, and the feeling of panic tightening our throats just before taking a test. Thankfully, there are practices that can be implemented starting at an early age to help make the test taking experience less harrowing for kids with anxiety. On Tuesday September 17th, from 4 to 5pm, the Pembroke Public Library invites kids and their caretakers to Tackling Test Anxiety, to hear local author Kathleen Jeffrey read her new book “Katie’s Really Bad Day,” and discuss some methods to calm test anxiety in young children. Kids will get to practice with breathing boards and discuss their own experiences with test anxiety. Best for children aged 5 to 8 years old, this event will take place in the Meeting Room. Register through the library’s website or by calling 781-293-6771.
